I have a set of sportlite wheels on a Raptor 700 and took it to the Badlands in Attica, IN. The rear wheels now look like they have been shot with a shotgun. Is there anything I can do to fix this and prevent this from happening in the future? The terrain is sand dunes that consist of large sand/small pea gravel particles.
Thanks, Mike

Unfortunatly there really isn't much you can do about that. The sand blasting abuse you see happens to pretty much every wheel being used on that terrain. It just shows a lot more on a shiny surface. If you are looking at putting some effort into cleaning them up then you should try a scotch brite pad. It won't make it look new but it will smooth it up and bring back some shine.
